Butlins are proud to announce that for the first time at a UK holiday centre, and exclusive to them, stars of both *X-Factor and Britain’s Got Talent will be appearing in the same live shows at the three beachside Resorts, Bognor Regis, Minehead and Skegness, in 2010.

Many of the stars are from the most recent shows - from X-Factor there will be Olly, Stacey, Danyl, Lloyd, Jamie, Lucie, Rachel and Miss Frank with Stavros Flatley, George Sampson and Faces of Disco from Britain’s Got Talent (stars from the 2010 show appearing from July). Camps get a multi-million make-over

WITH the staycation trend showing no signs of abating next year bookings at Butlins holiday camps are up 11% on last year after a six-year, £100m investment programme.

And it seems mums are doing the choosing when it comes to holiday bookings.

"Around 78% of our bookings are from mums," says Butlins managing director Richard Bates, who hired consultants to tell him what women think about holidays and adjusted his brochures to win their approval.

“Customers are forthright in telling us what they want: brighter, more modern accommodation, sea views, air-conditioning, floor-to-ceiling windows.”

Three Butlins resorts – Bognor Regis resort, Minehead and Skegness – attract 1.5 million customers a year and holidaymakers can take advantage of early booking discounts until January 31.

They include free places for the first child on a weekend break, school holiday and selected midweek breaks, or 20% price reductions for guests without children.

“After the initial booking period expires in February, our guests will book later and later. But we will offer holidays in 2010 which families can comfortably afford, despite the recession,” Bates says.

Butlin's are not the only holiday camp planning big improvements next summer.

Parkdean promises 32 new holiday-home categories for caravans and luxury lodges across 24 parks, with biggest savings on August online bookings at eight venues in Cornwall.

Haven Holidays meanwhile plans to spend £40m to bring the 'wow factor' to 35 UK parks, including Space Bowls and flumes to jazz up pool areas, adventure golf courses and a £12m revamp of accommodation.

Butlins to Host Performance from Jedward Next Year

It now seems that the famous X Factor rejects John and Edward Grimes, known as Jedward, are expected to play at Butlins next year to help boost the holiday camp’s bookings. Bosses at the park did confirm that they are already in talks right now with show organizers to host performances by a number of finalists, which does include the two Irish twins.

Other X Factor rejects, like Lucie Jones, have already had gigs and played at Butlins’ Minehead camp in Somerset. The managing director for Butlins, Richard Bates said that he wants all final acts to perform at Butlins.
This news came out as the famous holiday camp noted a 10 percent surge in sales at its three sites. Most of this increase came from a 6 percent rise in prices, which the firm has managed to impose despite the big recession. The guest numbers have remained largely flat at only 1.4 million.

One of the reasons for the increase in prices is to pay for the attention grabbing acts, like Jedward, to entertain the guests at the park. Britain’s Got Talent winners Diversity and father and son sensation Stavros Flatley performed this summer at Butlins as well.

The prices also went up to fund the £100 million investment program over the past five years. This includes the firm’s new £20 million Ocean Hotel at its Bognor Regis camp, which opened up this past August. This ultra modern hotel is running at 89 percent capacity with £1 million of advanced bookings for next year. Richard Bates did go on to reject talks that Butlins would start to suffer once the recession ends and families look for holidays elsewhere.
